âTRY CONNECTING WITH your most primal emotion,â Gage said. âWhat do you feel most deeply?â
It was late in the evening. Ozzy had fallen asleep by the fire, but Gage and Natalie were still awake, and she had convinced him to help her try to learn to shift. Unfortunately, it wasnât going all that well.
"The only thing I feel right now is frustrated," she admitted. "I donât know how you two do this so easily.â
"We've been doing it for a long time,â Gage said. âItâs instinct for us. Something the body just knows how to do, like...like eating.â
"I never had to learn how to eat,â Natalie countered.
âBut you kind of did,â Gage said. âWhen babies are little, theyâre fed from the breast or the bottle. And then they switch to solid food, and itâs different. Itâs a different skill. You don't remember learning it, but you did learn it.â
âI guess,â she said.
âBut if you had to learn how to eat food nowâif I tried to explain the process to you, and you tried to copy it for the first timeâit would feel unnatural,â Gage said. âIt would probably freak you out."
âWell, yeah, probably,â she conceded. âBut thereâs nothing like that in adult life. Thatâs why we learn all that stuff as babies. Adults canât do it.â
âWhat about your first kiss?â he asked. âHow old were you when that happened?â
She thought back. âEighteen."
âLate bloomer?â
âI never knew any guys for more than a couple of months at a time. It made things like having a boyfriend sort of...impractical.â
He nodded, stepped close to her, and captured her lips with his.
She knew that he was trying to make a point, but his touch was enough to melt through the frustration she had been struggling with. She leaned into him, fitted her body to his, and returned his kiss deeply.
He pulled back and looked into her eyes. âYouâre pretty good at that now,â he said, his breathing ragged. âYou learned how to do that.â
She didnât answer. She didnât want to think about shifting and all the confusing and frustrating challenges that came along with it anymore. She wanted to forget her difficulties for a little while.
So she pulled him down to her again, her mouth meeting his. He seemed to understand at once what she neededâhe parted her legs with his thigh, letting her settle her weight and grind against his leg.
âYouâre so wet,â he murmured. âI can feel how wet you are.â
The best part of trying to learn to shift, Natalie decided as his hands roamed over her body, was that she had to be naked to do it. Now she was ready for him. There was no awkward shuffling of clothing, no hiking up her skirt or pausing to undo his pants. He simply backed her up against a tree, hooked his hand beneath her knee to lift it up over his hip, and slid his massive cock into her.
She had never been so utterly ready before, with so little preparation. For the first
